Making Room for Harmony in Grandview
Edina
Our friends at Debra Cohen Design wanted to partner with us to bring harmony to her client’s home and to ensure structural aptitude, given the project’s challenges. The kitchen was dark, outdated, and didn’t offer an easy route to an earlier “add-on” four-season porch. Opening a structural wall significantly improved the flow of the space and allowed the parents to be in the kitchen while keeping an eye on the kids in the den and porch. Plus, removing the wall allowed backyard views to be seen from the kitchen. Special attention was paid to kitchen storage with the request that no food item become “lost”, so custom shallow shelving ensured all food items were always in direct sight line.
