Ten Steps to the Home You Love

Step 1: Tell us your vision.

Our process starts with a conversation, usually on the phone. We want to hear about your hopes and your ideas. Tell us about your budget. Let us in on any challenges. We’ll help you determine if our team is the best fit for your project.

Step 2: We’ll visualize the possibilities together, in your home.

Next, we’ll come to your home to provide a complimentary consultation. Together, we’ll look at the area(s) you want to remodel and talk about what you’re wanting to change. By the end of this visit, you should have a good feel for what we can accomplish in your space.

Step 3: You decide if you’d like a preliminary design proposal.

If you’re ready to see what our team can put together for you, you’ll pay a small fee to cover the cost of steps 4 and 5. This will be credited toward your finished project, should you choose to proceed.

Step 4: We nail down the specs.

Once you give the go-ahead, we’ll schedule a visit to your home to collect as-built measurements and photos. This is one of the most important parts of the process. The only way to ensure accurate pricing and quality results is with careful measurements up front. Our team stands out in this area.

Step 5: We’ll present you with an initial concept.

This is where the fun really begins. We’ll invite you to our showroom to look at our preliminary design concepts. You’ll get to see your ideas start to take shape right in front of you. We’ll also provide you with a budget estimate to help in your decision making. Because of step 4, our estimates are highly accurate.

Step 6: You review and sign a Design Agreement.

Ready to keep going? Just say the word.

Step 7: We turn your concepts into a full design plan—and we make sure you love every detail.

At this point, we’ll roll up our sleeves and dive in. During this part of the process, you’ll work with your designer to make selections and approve decisions along the way. We’ll provide you with options for tile, flooring, paint, fixtures, and more, and we’ll help you make choices that fit your needs and your style.

Here’s the best part: You’ll have a White Crane designer by your side and our entire team of construction professionals behind your project every step of the way. We’ve got decades of experience working on homes like yours, and we’ll make sure every square inch of the design works with your home and meets building code requirements. All you have to do is weigh in on your preferences.

Step 8: We lock in your construction plan.

Next, we’ll schedule a walkthrough at your home with our trusted trade partners. They’ll review your existing conditions and the project scope so they can create bids for us. About two weeks after that walkthrough, we’ll present you with a Construction Contract, which includes final pricing and a build schedule for your project.

Step 9: You review and sign a Construction Contract.

Step 10: We transform your home.

We can hardly wait to get to work on your remodel. We’ll start with a pre-construction meeting where you’ll meet your project team and hear about what to expect. We’ll align on how you’d like to be communicated with during construction, we’ll talk timing, and we’ll make sure you know who to contact with questions or concerns during the build.
