Kurtis Scholz

Construction has always run in Kurtis’ veins. He started working in his dad’s workshop as early as he was allowed to—around six years old—and by 21, he’d started a residential remodeling company with his father and brother in Central Wisconsin.
When he took a short detour toward an engineering degree, it led him right back to the remodeling business. He was already engineering solutions every day: figuring out how things fit together, solving problems in real time, and transforming complex projects into polished, functional spaces that families could enjoy for years to come. The classroom just couldn’t keep up with that.
Plus, he loved working with clients and watching their dreams take shape.
In his family business, Kurtis wore nearly every hat at various points—building, bookkeeping, estimating, sales—and he found he loved the business side as much as the craft. After he moved to Minneapolis, he brought all of that with him to White Crane, where, similarly, he’s held nearly every role on the way to general manager.
These days, Kurtis spends much of his time working with clients and supporting his team, but he still lights up when a challenging issue lands on his desk. He’s a problem-solver at heart. He’s especially proud to have a team that cares as much about each other as the homes they build.
When Kurtis isn’t working, you’ll find him remodeling his own home or golfing with his boys. Family and faith anchor the rest of his time—he and his wife are raising their three kids, and, together, they’re spending time at church and enjoying their neighborhood.
