Mississippi River Attic Remodel
Remodel of 100 Year Old Home Restores a Sunny but Unlivable Attic
When her home turned 100, our Cooper area client sought us out for an attic remodel she had been thinking about for years. Despite great daylighting, an ill-placed wall and unbearable summer temperatures kept her from utilizing the upper level of the home. White Crane designers proposed a design that included a full bedroom and bathroom, a spacious sitting room, and a pilates area, all nicely cooled with air conditioning. Warm wood accents, built-ins, and traditional detailing match the rich, historic touches of the remainder of the home.
“I can lay in bed and watch the sunrise and watch the trees swaying in the wind. And the light that comes in the afternoon—it’s just spectacular.”

They listened to my vision, they asked all the right questions, they really found out what I wished for up there, and then they made it happen.”
